... Actually, it's just the referee blocking the point of contact of this hard-as-hell hit by North Side's Marlin Hill (as says the original caption on the video). Just another reason to hate referees, I guess, for their questionable sense of timing, getting in the middle of the shot like that. Personally, I like to think Mr. Hill is landing a left hook on the opposing player right after the interception. More likely, it was a shoulder, but it's more fun this way... not that a thrown shoulder detracts from the resulting destruction. The helmet flying off adds a nice touch.
